Personal Profile of Stiig Lomholt Hougesen
On February 6th 1974 I was born in Næstved in Denmark and I grew up as the son of Mrs. Gurli Hougesen (Prev. Christensen) and Mr. Arne Lomholt Hougesen. I have one younger brother Kim Lomholt Hougesen.
During my childhood I was both active in sports such as athletic and swimming, but also I was a scout for several years and as I enjoyed playing the piano I joined the youth-music group Ten-Sing for some years.
In 1994 I graduated as Informatics Assistant from Nykøbing Falster Business College, and after a couple of seasons working on the ferries between Gedser and Rostock, I started working as an Accountant Assistant and studied economy at Copenhagen Business College in the evenings. In 1999 I realised that I might had the opportunity to fulfil a dream of becoming a pilot, so I quitted my job, sold my apartment and in 2000 I started the integrated course at Aeronautical Institute of Denmark (Luftfartsskolen). In 2002 – after two years of successful training – I graduated as Commercial Pilot.
Due to the worldwide crisis in the aviation business (as well as in many others), I decided to return temporarily to my previous occupation until the aviation business would again experience better times.
When aviation business started to improve in 2006, I resigned my full time job as Financial Manager. Instead I started working as freelancer and I took different kinds of jobs, just to be as flexible as possible for flying jobs.
After a few flights in an aerial pollution control project, I went to Latvia a couple of seasons to fly in an airborne fox vaccination project. For about a year I flew for a Danish Business Charter Operator, and I taught ATPL-theoretically subjects on their flying school.
Presently I am running my own aerial photography company SH Luftfoto.
In 1999 I met Natalja Aksjonova who was born in 1975 by Russian parents. We met each other just after she came to Denmark to work as au pair in a Danish family in Copenhagen. In 2001 we got married and we now have two daughters Anastasija and Katharina.
As a person I can be recognised as calm, kind and open minded. I am very independent, but as I like to be with other people I am very cooperative. My honesty and loyalty makes me very trustworthy and I am always responsible in all what I do. I am well organised and correct, which makes me handle stressed situations very well. I like to help other people and I am very service minded.
Besides my interested in flying, I like very much to travel and being with my family and friends. Also I like to just relax by playing the piano or walk in the nature.
